The Pink & Lily, the
inn frequented by the poet Sub Lieut
Rupert
BROOKE and his companion Jacques Raverat when
walking in the Chiltern Hills.
The room on the front corner where the companions
spent many a happy hour has been left largely untouched.
In this room, there are various photographs relating
to Rupert Brooke including a poem (possibly signed
by him) and his grave on the Isle of Skyros, Greece.
These can be seen under
Rupert
Brooke,
in the Casualties section.
(a colour photograph of the grave can also be seen
on the CWGC website).
